This Magic is what we have affectionately called the creation process, from the moment the brief is finalised we start to get moving – literally! People often ask us how we do what we do and whilst no project is exactly the same, they do of course all have constituent features!
If it is a music related show we start with music arrangements with our Musical Director Monika, sometimes it is complex brand new creations and other times it can be a little simpler and taken from aspects we have created previously.
We cast from our exclusive team of singers, dancers and any specialist acts needed and in some cases give them music to learn ahead of rehearsals.
Chorography plans are written with diagrams and time codes for all the blocking, blocking is literally where every performer in the show is standing and moving to at every time code and exactly what is being sung/played.
We have stage plans and rigging info for circus acts that need to be considered plus lighting and AV requirements that need to be solidified too. Even creating Magic needs all the IRL stuff.
Whilst all of this is going on during the prep, we then get in the studio with all of it in mind and shape it all, every step, every note and every wow moment! At this time costume briefs are written and even bespoke design can take place, we try things one in fittings and bring it all together with the artistry on the day! Making it look effortless, purposeful and dynamic!
Then it’s tech and show time! Magic onstage and off.
