The thing about rehearsals is that at its heart we are trying to make the impossible look effortless, so the language of everything looks fluent and can just tell the story or elicit the emotion without distraction. That’s why when you see images of rehearsal processes with intense looks for creators and performers intently listening or attempting something as part of the process.
With rehearsal we are playing, refining and experimenting with the form to create something new. It really does depend on the project and the creative just how ‘perfected’ you want things to be, there is beauty in the rawness too we think. Effectively making everything look flawless and synchronised, unified and breathtaking with the human side intact, the performer and the audience make the connection this way.
The rehearsal studio is where we love to be.
